寒假裡我讀了巴爾扎克所著的《高老頭》，感觸很大。這部偉大的作品深刻揭示了當時法國社會的黑暗現實以及人與人之冷酷的金錢關係，讀來讓人震撼，同時也為巴爾扎克對社會的深刻揭露而慨歎。
故事的主人公就是高裡奧老頭和拉斯蒂涅，此外還包括伏脫冷和鮑賽昂夫人。這四個人各自有著不同的經歷，卻從不同角度反映出一個共同的社會現象——金錢對社會的決定性作用，它誘人墮落，它把人與人之間的關係變得冷酷無情，它導演出一幕又一幕的人間悲劇。高裡奧原是麵粉商。()為了讓兩個女兒攀上一門好親事，他把自己大部分財產分給了她們。可是，兩個女兒眼裡只有錢，不過兩年，就把父親從自家趕出來，可憐的高老頭不得不去租住破舊的公寓。20年間，他把自己的心血和財產都給了兩個女兒，可最終卻像被榨幹了的檸檬殼一樣被女兒們丟棄。直到死，兩個女兒為參加舞會都不願見自己父親最後一面，讓他含恨而終。這樣的社會，哪兒還存在道德理想？金錢才是全社會的統治者，得之者勝，失之者敗。而作品另一個主人公拉斯蒂涅，更是經歷了一個墮落的過程。在上層社會和下層社會生活所形成的強烈對比之下，他的性格慢慢發生了變化，貧富差距不斷刺激著他的欲望，最後抵不住金錢的誘惑，走上了資產階級野心家的道路。作品中所描寫的這些世態炎涼，讓人驚歎，促人深思。
